Drumming in Adelaide Drumming in Adelaide Bands'

Some of the groups that I have played drums with.

'We Kissed' by July 14July 14

With Terry Bradford, Robyn Habel and Rob Ling. Originally formed as a once-only performance band supporting the Violent Femmes for a public radio fund raising gig, July 14 also went into the studio to record the single 'Me and My Gun' backed with 'We Kissed'. ' If it wasn't so dammed hard to get hold of, 'Me and My Gun' would be single of the week!' Sounds magazine UK.

'Gosel Noir' self-titled album Gospel Noir

Recording project with Terry Bradford, Denise Alexander (Borderers), James Clark, John Hyland and Sean Timms. Featuring songs of Terry with a definite country feel. I played mainly brushed snare on this record. I think the highlight for me was performing with Gospel Noir as the support act for pop icon Tom Jones , during his Australian Tour. Mind you, he didn't actually see us perform as his limo only arrived about 15 minutes before he was due to start.

Nuvo Bloc - New Wave Nuvo Bloc

I was invited to audition with the other members of Nuvo Bloc after leaving the U-Bombs. The great thing for me as a drummer with this group was the opportunity to play in other than 4/4 time. I also experimented with playing without cymbals and positioning the kit to on side of the stage instead of the traditional center stage. Read more here.

Irving and The U-Bombs Irving and The U-Bombs

I was 19 years old when I first heard about 'punk' and the 'new wave' appearing on the musical horizon, sweeping in from England at a time when disco ruled the dance floor and seeing a live band at the local pub was almost a memory. Then one morning I saw 'God Save the Queen' by the Sex Pistols on the TV and I knew straight away that I just had to play drums in a punk band. Read more here.

Dya Singh Dya Singh

I was contracted to tour with the group as the sound person and ended up contributing to the 'Pilgram' album, abeit in small doses playing brushed snare and the Darabuka. I also performed live including the CD launch held at the Adelaide Town Hall, in front of the Lord Mayor no less! The Dya Singh group now travels widely throughout the world and is highly acclaimed by both Sikh and alternative mainstream audiences.
