Irving and the U-Bombs.

'Hi! I'm Phil and this is Paul,' said the disciple as he motioned at the other. 'We've heard through a mutual friend that you're a drummer. I play bass and Paul here plays guitar and we want to form a punk band. Are you interested in playing with us?'. I mumbled something about fate and coincidence but I should've just said 'Amen Brothers'.

Nuvo Bloc.

As the other members had already been writing and rehearsing together for some weeks, I found it relatively easy to come straight in and play along to their tight, well-rehearsed yet complex arrangements. The six of us with all of our equipment were crammed into Pete's bedroom for the first rehearsal and as soon as we started playing, we all seemed to 'click', as it were.

The mutes.

A small ensemble that played and recorded improvised and spontaneous music, using real and improvised instruments with experimental sound mixing techniques. It marked the start of the 'collective' performances of experimental music by musicians from different groups and was similar to the 'little bands' phenomenon happening in Melbourne at the same time.
